Personal Protective Guide

Job Task:  Trash Receptacle Dumping

Hazards:  Exposure to motor vehicles, strains and sprains due to lifting, cuts and lacerations, slip and falls, exposures to hydraulic equipment, and possible exposure to meth lab waste containing deadly gases and chemicals

Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments:  Use proper lifting techniques if mechanical lifting equipment is not provided.  Be observant for sharp objects and items protruding from containers. Follow proper hydraulic equipment operating procedures.  Be aware of possible hazardous waste. Wear the appropriate reflective vest as required by federal law.
