Personal Protective Guide

Job Task:  Street Sweeping

Hazards:  Exposure to dust and noise, vehicle accident exposures, and falls from vehicle while entering and exiting

Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments:  Use an appropriate respirator if conditions warrant.  Reflective vests should be worn when working in or near roadways if outside the vehicle. Use the three points of contact techniques when mounting and dismounting from the cab.  Do not jump from the cab to ground.
