Job Task:  Soldering Gun Operation

Hazards:  Inhalation of fumes, vapors and gases during soldering, eye injuries from splattering, skin irritation and burns from cleaners and hot solder, and foot injury from dropped objects

Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments: Review the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) when using toxic fluxes to determine PPE requirements. Respirator may be needed depending on ventilation and materials used.  Avoid breathing fumes and work in an area with adequate ventilation. Remove combustible and flammable materials from the area to prevent fires.
