Personal Protective Guide

Job Task:  Snow Plowing

Hazards:  Motor vehicle accident injuries, slips and falls, and cold temperature exposures

Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments:  Wear clothing and gloves as appropriate for the temperature to prevent frostbite and hypothermia if outside the cab.  Do not cover fire hydrants, street signs, and valves, etc.  Wear reflective vest and gloves if outside the vehicle.  Use the three points of contact techniques when mounting and dismounting from the cab.  Do not jump from the cab to ground.
