Personal Protective Guide
Job Task: Mowers (Push) Operation
Hazards: Eye injury from flying objects, hearing loss due to high noise, inhalation of fumes when refueling, trauma from contact with moving parts, foot injury from mower rolling over foot, and vehicle exposures when working near traffic
Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments: Operate equipment in strict accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. Allow use only by trained and authorized individuals. To reduce the chance of fire, do not refuel a hot machine. Avoid inhaling fumes when refueling. Fuel in a well ventilated area. Stop engine before performing any maintenance or trouble shooting and disable the ignition system. Cut horizontally on slopes. Ensure all guards are in place prior to operation and after repairs. Keep hands, hair and clothing away from moving parts. Wear reflective vest if cutting near traffic. Wearing gloves and dust mask are optional. Wear sun screen.
