Personal Protective Guide
Job Task: Jointer/Planer Operation
Hazards: Inhalation of dust and particles, eye injury from projectiles, trauma from contact with moving parts, foot injury from dropped items, electrical shock due to improper grounding
Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments: Operate equipment in strict accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. Allow use only by trained and authorized individuals. Face shields are considered secondary protection and should always be worn with safety glasses or goggles under the shield. Ensure all guarding is in place before operation. Disposable respirator is optional. Keep hands, hair and loose clothing clear of all moving parts. Ensure the jointer and electrical plug are properly grounded.
