Job Task: Forklift Operation
Hazards: Injuries from being struck by falling items, tip over, head struck on cage, falling off loading areas, falls while entering and exiting the forklift, high noise from engine, inhalation of engine exhaust, and burns during maintenance
Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments: Operate equipment in strict accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. Allow use only by trained and authorized individuals. Wear seat belts where provided. Hearing protection may be needed. Use the three points of contact techniques when mounting and dismounting from the cab. Do not jump from the cab to ground. Allow only trained authorized users to operate or perform routine maintenance and repair on equipment. Always operate gas powered forklifts in an open well ventilated area. Never refuel while engine is running or in presence of open flame. Never remove radiator cap from liquid cooled engines while they are hot. Stop engine before performing any maintenance or trouble shooting and disable the ignition system. Ensure all guards are in place prior to operation and after repairs. Keep hands, hair and clothing away from moving parts. Wear seat belt if equipment has rollover protection.
