Personal Protective Guide

Job Task:  Chlorine Cylinder Replacement

Hazards:  Inhalation and skin exposure to chlorine gas and being caught between large cylinders.

Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments:  If an SCBA is used, chemical goggles are not needed.  Use a wheel dolly or hoist to move cylinders.  Follow proper change out procedures and implement the emergency plan in the event of a significant leak.
