Personal Protective Guide

Job Task:  Asphalt Overlay

Hazards:  Eye injury due to materials falling from trucks, burns to body parts from hot materials and machine parts, hand and foot injuries when working on and around machinery, vehicle exposures when working near traffic, and head injury due to objects/material falling from machinery

Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments:  Reflective vests should be worn when working in or near roadways.  Follow proper work area protection.
