Personal Protective Guide

Job Task:  Aeration

Hazards:  Eye and head injury from release of high air pressure or flying debris, injury to multiple body parts due to flying material, hearing loss due to excessive noise, and foot injury from dropped hammer.

Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments:  Operate equipment in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Face shields are considered secondary protection and should always be worn with safety glasses or goggles under the shield.  Reflective vests should be worn when working in or near roadways.  Follow proper work area protection.
