Personal Protective Guide

Job Task:  Circular Saw Operation

Hazards:  Eye injuries due to flying particles, amputation of hand and limbs due to blade contact, high noise exposure, foot injuries due to falling lumber, and inhalation of airborne wood dust.

Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments:  Face shields are considered secondary protection and should always be worn with safety glasses or goggles under the shield.  Ensure the proper tool guards are in place and operating correctly.  Clean up to reduce combustible dust. Use a particulate filter respirator.  Inspect electrical cord for damage.
