Personal Protective Guide

Job Task:  Chain Hoist Operation

Hazards:  Foot injury due to dropped items, head injury from swinging item or hoist, and hand pinch or crushing injury due to moving the item.

Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments: Operate the hoist in strict accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.  Do not overload the hoist.  Ensure hoist is provided with an annual certified inspection. Inspect slings and hoist prior to use.
