Personal Protective Guide

Job Task:  Blower (Leaf/Grass)

Hazards:  Eye injury from flying objects, inhalation of dust and airborne particles, hearing loss due to high noise, inhalation of fumes when refueling, and vehicle exposures when working near traffic.

Although other exposures exist, they are not controlled by personal protective equipment; therefore, they are not indicated in this manual.

Additional Comments:  Operate equipment in strict accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. To reduce the chance of fire, do not refuel a hot machine.  Avoid inhaling fumes when refueling.  Fuel in a well ventilated area.  Use particulate filter respirators if necessary. Reflective vests should be worn when working in or near roadways.
